This month, we see the dominant rise of video content, from 2022 reports to competition being-had between TikTok Vs. Shorts. Meta explores following Musk’s lead by testing paid for blue ticks and AI progressively gets more intense…

  1. Meta could be exploring paid blue checkmarks on Facebook & Instagram - It seems Musk’s approach to Twitter has rubbed off on Meta! Who will be hungry enough to buy their own tick and who will have legit value to their page?

  2. Youtube Shorts Vs TikTok, in battle for younger users - On February 1st, Youtube enabled creators to generate ad revenue in effort to lure them away from rival TikTok, yet tech giants are still slumping. Dive in for the economic and competitive details…

  3. In 2022, 65% of all internet traffic came from video sites - Data usage increased 24% year-over-year and video is dominating our screens, with Netflix and Google eating up most of the bandwidth. Video content is on our radars and it’s here to stay! (Instagram, maybe rethink that new photo-centric app update?)

  1. Live shopping on Instagram is going away -  Come March 16th consider it gone! Instagram will continue to invest in shopping experiences, but the change will help focus on products that provide the most value to users. What will the future hold?

  2. Instagram tests new 'Memory' story - To prompt us to re-share old posts, they’re introducing an archive feature, similar to Facebook’s ‘On This Day’ moment. Is this a sign that IG engagement is in decline. Regardless, who doesn’t love a bit of nostalgia!?

  3. UK officials call for TikTok ban - After new EU restrictions, with concerns of potential ties to the Chinese government and intervention in the Ukraine conflict, UK Government officials are banned from using TikTok. Something to keep an eye on!

  1. AI site on internet can find every picture of you that exists - Looking for someone online - there’s now a website for it… Pimeyes will scour the internet to match the face, but to find the source of the upload there’s a cost involved. Disturbing right?

  2. The Brit Awards failed to nominate a single woman in the best artist category - For the second year running the Brits were non inclusive for this section, and it’s damaging for such a mainstream, high profile awards ceremony to neglect a group. Will they be better the third year running? We can only hope.

  3. Vogue and Snapchat collaborate for augmented reality - Revolutionary AR comes to London Fashion Week for Redefining the Body. The exhibition is at a crossroads of fashion and technology, bringing designs to life. What’s next?
