PR ACCOUNT MANAGER

 

Full Fat is looking for a passionate, creative and forward-thinking Account Manager or Senior Account Manager with at least 3 years of relevant PR experience, to join its growing team. The Account Manager's role will be to drive accounts that the agency passionately works with within the culture and lifestyle sectors, particularly with drink, bars and restaurants across consumer and trade media.


The right candidate is a capable and confident operator, who has a thorough understanding of the media and possesses the required skills to generate media coverage in all areas of PR. They will be a confident leader who can develop clear briefs, manage teams effectively and ensure consistently strong results across multiple campaigns. They will be used to consistently developing and implementing successful campaign strategies.

Knowledge of the lifestyle sector is essential.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The role will involve developing and implementing strategies as well as working closely with the agency's Account Directors, ensuring that programmes and objectives are adhered to and that accounts are well organised. The right candidate will be able to manage their delivery teams effectively and become a trusted advisor to clients.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Media Skills

  • Complete understanding of how the media works in the areas that the agency operates

  • Owns a developed and burgeoning black book of relevant media contacts

  • Driving the media relations programme for all clients as laid out in the agreed programme of activity with Account Directors

  • Leads media sell ins on delegated accounts and workstreams to ensure KPIs are delivered

  • Proactively seeking and identifying publicity opportunities to ensure the maximum level of coverage is achieved for clients and projects

  • Overseeing programmes of media promotional activity such as competitions, sampling offers, reader offers etc...

  • Proactively looking for opportunities to grow the media horizons of the client

  • Competent in all verbal approaches to journalists - consumer, business-to-business and trade, to sell in ideas and discuss opportunities

  • Plan and manage the organisation of events ranging from workshops, photo calls, press conferences, training days etc... on behalf of clients

  • Understand and advise on media handling including interview briefings, developing Q&A’s, exclusives, embargoes and damage limitations

  • Broker and secure contra and paid media partnerships with key media

  • Negotiate major media promotions and advertorials

  • Alert clients to PR risks or opportunities presented by broader areas of corporate responsibility, e.g employment practices, health and safety at work

  • Select and develop sponsorships including planning, contractual agreements and activity organisation

Client Liaison

  • Impeccable day to day communication on delegated accounts

  • Actively drives client meetings

  • Proactive in solving campaign challenges

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to all their clients and able to provide guidance on crisis communications with support from Account Directors

  • Lead meetings, ensuring adequate preparation and that Account Directors or seniors are fully briefed on meeting agendas

New Business

  • Work with senior teams on new business briefs

  • Take a key role in presentations at new business pitches

Written Work

  • Writing coherent and factually accurate press releases that require no or minimal amends from seniors and clients

  • Ability to draft feature copy for trade, corporate and business publications for a client that is well informed and appropriate to the end user with minimal client or media amendment

  • Amending and improving press releases and internal copy drafted by account executives

  • Capable of writing creative new business proposals with direction from Account Directors, drafting evaluation reports, speeches and presentations as required

General Skills

  • Lead brainstorms and have a creative input in new business pitches for relevant accounts

  • Ability to play a central role within the team and take full responsibility for owned clients

  • Have an eagle eye for proof reads of any written material produced for client

  • Mature ability to brief designers, photographers, printers in a knowledgeable and precise manner, negotiate costs, manage quality control deadline problems etc...

  • Ability to motivate and supervise a team

  • Have an understanding of financial controls on all accounts, mark-up rules and budgeting procedures
